z-identity is a complete, modern replacement for the two resources every ESX server has always had to run side by side — esx_identity and esx_multicharacter. Both are rebuilt from the ground up and merged into a single drop-in resource: registration, the character roster, creation and spawning all live behind one clean, fast
React interface instead of two aging scripts with a dated menu. It's designed to drop straight into an existing server. z-identity still fires the original esx_identity:* and esx_multicharacter:* events alongside its own, so every script that already listens for them keeps working untouched.
The database sets itself up on first start (no manual SQL), the compiled UI ships with the resource (no build step), and the appearance backend stays your choice — z-appearance, skinchanger/esx_skin, illenium or fivem-appearance — because z-identity never hard-calls a skin resource.
Where it really sets itself apart is the experience. The character selection isn't a flat list — it's a cinematic scene: a framed camera with an automatic idle cinematic, your other characters standing in the background, your selected character's owned vehicles parked behind them, and a smooth transition into the world on spawn.
The whole UI adapts to your server rather than the other way around: a per-server accent colour that each player can even override for themselves, your own server logo, and full German + English localisation out of the box.
On top of the basics it adds the things players actually notice — switching character in-game with a single command (no reconnect), a built-in photo mode, background music with a mute toggle, per-player settings that persist, and a fully configurable character-slot system (unlock slots via in-game money, Tebex grants or admin commands).
And because moving to it shouldn't cost you your data: a single admin command migrates an existing esx_identity server straight into the multichar system, and another reverts it — so even single-character servers can run the immersive selector (just cap it at one slot) without losing anything.
